The Funny Golf Players and Ancient Gods, All Await the Release of New Slots

We thought that it’s been a while since we added some slots dedicated to Ancient Egypt to our library, but luckily, there is never a shortage of those coming from the studios.

Table of contents:

  1. Sun Goddess by Amatic Industries.
  2. Might of Ra by Pragmatic Play.
  3. John Daly Spin It & Win It by Spearhead Studios.
  4. Our verdict.

Sun Goddess by Amatic Industries

slot review 1xbit march

You might have noticed that lately, we have been adding more and more slots from up-and-coming studios to ensure the variety of spinning experiences. One of such studios is Amatic Industries, the supplier of premium gaming solutions from Austria. The first slot under review is called Sun Goddess, obviously referring to one of several deities from Egyptian mythology that were closely associated with the star that sits in the center of our solar system.

Let us be frank, Sun Goddess isn’t a graphical masterpiece as its graphical elements are reminiscent of a 90s video game. But it’s a good slot in other regards, on par with most other Egypt-themed slots featured in our selections before. It has a familiar setup with 5 reels and 50 paylines that pay from the leftmost. We must note that Sun Goddess has an unusual betting range, with the lowest betting option being 100 mBTC and the highest - 500 mBTC. The goddess is the highest-paying symbol, getting five of which will land you 10,000 mBTC. The game has two special symbols: the Bonus symbol awards from 5 to 15 Bonus Spins, the Wild symbol has a substituting function that doesn’t apply to the Bonus symbol.

Might of Ra by Pragmatic Play

Now, let’s move on to the similarly themed slot that was developed by our regular provider, Pragmatic Play. It’s called Might of Ra, which also refers to the chief deity of Ancient Egypt. Unlike its counterpart, Might of Ra is a shining example of a symbiosis of excellent animation, great payouts, and gameplay that isn’t overladen with special features.

This slot has a slightly unusual layout with 6 reels on 4 rows; the winnings are formed through 50 fixed paylines. What’s great about Might of Ra is that it has a very sizable maximum payout of 22,500 times the total stake, though the betting range here is quite narrow - 0.2 mBTC to 20 mBTC. The golden scarab is the first of the three special symbols - it acts as the Bonus that triggers free spins with complimentary multipliers of up to 5 times the total stake. During the Bonus round, the Ankh (the Egyptian cross) may appear and provide extra perks in the form of additional Wilds. The ripped pharaoh is the substituting Wild that may also grant the multiplier of 3 times the total stake.

John Daly Spin It & Win It by Spearhead Studios

The last slot in this selection is also provided by a fledgling studio that operates out of Malaga, Spain. Spearhead Studios was established three years ago and over that time, produced a number of interesting titles, the latest of which is called John Daly Spin It & Win It. Just like the first slot in this review, it’s far from being a visual masterpiece, though it’s obvious that the developers were more focused on its comical side. The central character looks like a slightly overweight Donald Trump, which is hilarious in itself.

The game has 243 betways, and the betting range that extends from 0.1 mBTC to 100 mBTC. Despite its simplicity, John Daly Spin It & Win It offers a huge multiplier of 20,000 times the total stake. The slot is actually packed with features as it has the familiar Wild and Bonus symbols, accompanied by Walking and Sticky Wilds, and three types of gold balls: a regular, a colored, and a golden.

Our verdict

In our opinion, if Spearhead Studios put more effort into making better visuals, this studio would produce amazing slots, but John Daly Spin It & Win It is good enough to be named the slot of the week. The other two slots will be appreciated by the fans of the Egypt theme, though Might of Ra is undoubtedly better in terms of visuals.
