Set your eyes to stun! Get ready for a thrilling weekend of golf and Call of Duty action!

Porsche European Open

Are you ready for 4 days of action from Germany’s most difficult course? Look no further than the Porsche European Open, which will tee off on the 2nd June.

Pro golfers from all over the world will be making their way to the Green Eagle golf course in Hamburg to compete in one of the most prestigious titles on the European Tour, and of course to be in with a chance of securing that all important top spot.

The course itself, referred to as the ‘green monster’, is an idyllic grassy paradise surrounded by 186 hectares of calming countryside views. However, that’s where the pleasantries end. The competing golfers are faced with a course of over 7,000m with water hazards on almost every hole, a rough that is maintained by a local flock of sheep, and numerous sand bunkers in which even the crème de la crème can get bogged down in. You can see why they call it the monster.

An undeniable perk of the course is the cars. Firstly, we have the hole-in-one car which is positioned on the challenging 17th hole. If the golfer can hit a hole in one, they can win the Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo in Neptune Blue. How about that for an incentive?

Another flashy bonus of the job is that at the end of each day, the leading pro gets to take a seat in the players’ most popular Porsche. The Leader’s Car is available for the golfer who earns first place each day to drive to and from the tournament. This year, Hamburg designer Flemming Pinck has painted the car to look like the 18th hole on the course.

Last years’ winner Marcus Armitage, who had an impressive final round starting in 11th place and managing to come out on top, will be back to defend his title. Following wins on the DP World Tour, Danish fans are hoping that the young twins Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard will show their skills and make a name for European golf.

We will also be watching Justin Thomas, who has just come off the back of a spectacular win at the PGA Championship earlier this month. Thomas also overcame an eight-shot deficit to prevail over his compatriot Will Zalatoris in Oklahoma, and he’ll certainly want history to repeat itself in Hamburg.

Call of Duty: Major III

Calling all COD fans out here! Make sure to keep your eyes peeled and the popcorn locked and loaded this weekend as Toronto plays host to the third Major of the 2022 Call of Duty season. With so many epic matches on the horizon, as well as the inevitable twists and turns that come with any tournament, this is one event that you definitely won’t want to miss out on.

Perhaps the question that’s on everyone’s lips as we edge our way closer to the start of this tournament is who will edge ahead in the race for top spot with just 5 points separating Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Texas at the time of writing.

Atalanta FaZe will be desperate to lay down a marker and strengthen their grip on first place going into this after somewhat questionable showing in the qualifiers. Although they managed to turn it around in their last match against LA Guerillas and cruise to a 3-1 win, the league leaders had come off second best in their last two matches against MIN RØKKR and OpTic Texas, losing 3-0 and 3-1 respectively.

This meant defeat to MIN RØKKR was particularly stinging for FaZe and left their squad questioning their tactics.

That being said, they weren’t the only big name to be on the wrong end of a shock loss in the qualifiers either, as second-place OpTic Texas also slipped to a 3-1 loss against New York Subliners, who are currently 11th in the overall standings for this season. That being said, OpTic did finish 3 places above Atalanta FaZe and could fancy their chances of overhauling their rivals, who could have their work cut out for them against the Toronto Ultras, who’ll be eager to give their fans something to cheer about on home soil.

What’s more, there’s also plenty of excitement at the other end of the table as teams fight to crawl out of the relegation zone. Although, in all reality, Paris Legends don’t have a cat in hell’s chance of reaching the Call of Duty Champs later in the year, the New York Subliners’ season might have got the shot in the arm it needed after a strong showing in the qualifiers.

NYSL are just 20 points behind both the Florida Mutineers and Los Angeles Thieves, and 30 behind Toronto Ultras who currently occupy that all important 8th spot. With things so tight down at the bottom, all of these teams will be itching to get points on the board.

So, no matter what happens, we’re in for an absolute cracker of a tournament this weekend!
