Strap yourselves in for a rollercoaster ride this weekend!
NBA
Calling all you b-ball fans out there! Make sure to get the popcorn in as we’re set for a tidal wave of exciting NBA action over the next few days as some of basketball’s elite go toe-to-toe on the court.
Perhaps the most mouth-watering clash of all will take place in the early hours of Thursday morning as the unstoppable force of Boston Celtics meets the immovable object of Phoenix Suns in a crunch clash that pits the leaders of the Eastern and Western Conferences against one another.

There’s no two ways about it, the Celtics have been an absolute revelation this season. Although many feared that they would struggle to reach the dizzy heights of last season in the wake of head coach Ime Udoka’s suspension, as well as injuries to key players Danilo Gallinari and Robert Williams III, last season’s NBA finalists have hit the ground running under interim head coach, Joe Mazzulla.
Mazzulla’s men will be in high spirits heading into this crunch clash after shrugging off a tough challenge from Toronto Raptors to pick up a 20th win of the season at the weekend.

That being said, they’ll have their work cut out for them against the Phoenix Suns, who are currently ruling the roost in the Western Conference. Monty Williams’ men will be champing at the bit to get back to winning ways after slipping to a 130-111 defeat to Dallas Mavericks in their last outing. What’s more, they’ll also be looking to get some momentum going ahead of this weekend’s showdown with in-form New Orleans Pelicans, who are hot on their tails in the Western Conference, which could prove to be pivotal in determining who takes the lead way out west.
Meanwhile, The Celtics are set to follow up Thursday’s date with destiny with a repeat of last season’s NBA finals as they face reigning champions, Golden State Warriors. Although Golden State ran out comfortable winners on that occasion, there’s arguably never been a better time for their opponents to face them than right now as they are languishing in 10th place after an abject start to this campaign.
Will The Celtics get their revenge or will history repeat itself here? No matter what happens, we’re bound to be in for a tidal wave of excitement over the next few days.
NHL
It’s on like Donkey Kong in the NHL right now as the new season is already very much in full swing. With plenty of epic matches heading our way, you can bet your bottom dollar that we’re in for a whole world of excitement over the course of the next few days!
Perhaps the pick of the bunch sees reigning Stanley Cup champions Colorado Avalanche take on Atlantic Division leaders, Boston Bruins for the second time in the space of a week. The Bruins will be looking for a repeat performance of Sunday’s reverse fixture where they powered their way to a comfortable 5-1 victory over their opponents to cement their lead at the top of the Atlantic Division.

What’s more, they’ll also be doubly eager to pick up a win as they look to recover from Tuesday’s 4-3 defeat to Pacific Division leaders, Vegas Golden Knights, with Toronto Maple Leafs waiting to pounce on any slip-ups.

Dropping points is not an option for Colorado Avalanche either as they seek to stay in the hunt to reach the play-offs. However, if Jared Bednar’s men’s recent form is anything to go by, they’ll need to dig deep to bring home the bacon on this occasion. Avalanche have lost 3 of their last 4 outings, conceding 5 in all 3 of their losses. What’s more, they also let in 4 in their recent win over Buffalo Sabres, and need to start plugging holes in their defence if they are to start picking up wins as the race to reach the play-offs hots up.
Will they have the last laugh here or will The Bruins best them once again? Whatever happens, we’re in for an absolute cracker of a match here.
